Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Arterial Drainage—Number Employed.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the number of men employed on arterial drainage at the latest available date and at the corresponding dates of the years 1950, 1951 and 1952.

The number of men employed on arterial drainage in the week ended 21st November, 1953, was 1,071. The numbers employed in the corresponding weeks in 1950, 1951 and 1952 were 633, 883 and 1,048, respectively.

These numbers include the employees at the central engineering workshop where machinery used for arterial drainage is repaired and overhauled.
