Vol. 143 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - West Cork Breakwater.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state whether any progress has yet been made in connection with the construction of the Schull breakwater.

Following the inspection by an officer of my Department, referred to in my reply to the Deputy on 30th July, it was decided to investigate the possibility of providing at the nearby inlet of Cooradarrigan the shelter accommodationrequired by fishing vessels working into Schull harbour as an alternative to the scheme suggested by the consulting engineer engaged by the Cork County Council. I have asked the Office of Public Works for an engineering report as to the possibilities at Cooradarrigan.
