Vol. 144 No. 1

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin-Bray Road Improvements.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the proposal to carry out certain improvements to the Dublin-Bray road and if in sanctioning or approving of any scheme for such purpose he will give due consideration to the importance to the traders and business people of Stillorgan, Cornelscourt, Cabinteely and Shankill of having a properly constructed roadway through these villages; and, if so, if he will ensure that any scheme approved will not result in the villages named being by-passed.

I am aware that the question of carrying out improvements to the road mentioned by the Deputy is at present under consideration by the three local authorities concerned.

In view of my statutory responsibility for adjudicating on the proposals for land acquisition in connection with such works, I cannot enter into any discussion on the points raised in the subsequent parts of the question.
