Vol. 145 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rosslare Protective Wall.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state if proposals for a grant for a protective wall at the Burrow, Rosslare, County Wexford, have been made to his Department; and, if so, in view of the immediate necessity for the construction of such a wall for the safety of the residents in that area, he will state if it is proposed to make funds available for the purpose.

A request has been received from Wexford County Council for the allocation of a grant from the National Development Fund towards the cost of measures to combat erosion at Rosslare Strand. As precise details of the work in question have not been furnished, it is not possible to state whether the county council have in mind the work mentioned by the Deputy. The council's request is receiving consideration in conjunction with other applications.
