Vol. 146 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Military Service Medals.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state the number of applications received from County Kerry from June, 1951, to 31st May, 1954, for 1917-1921 service medals; and, further, if he will state the number of such applications that were successful and the number that were not successful.

Applications for medals are recorded alphabetically, and not in county order. The total number of applications for the medal without bar is 58,057 and I regret that the figures for County Kerry asked for by the Deputy are not readily available. In view of the number of applications, I do not feel that the time and work which would be involved in extracting the information would be justified.
