Vol. 146 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Agricultural Taxes, Tariffs and Quotas.

Mr. Lemass

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will particularise "the raw materials of the agricultural industry" which are subject to taxes, tariffs and quotas and to which he referred in a recent public statement; and, further, if he will indicate in each case the advantage to agriculture of the change he advocated; also, if he will state whether the Government has considered or is likely to consider in the early future repealing any of these taxes, tariffs or quotas.

The raw materials of the agricultural industry cover a rather wide field with which, I have no doubt, the Deputy is already well familiar.

The existing tariffs, etc., which affect agricultural production are at present under review by the Government.
