Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Road Grants.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the amount of the road grants paid in 1952-53 to the Limerick Corporation and the Limerick County Council, respectively; the amount to be allocated in the present financial year to each body; and if he will indicate the areas in East Limerick to be covered by the grant to the Limerick County Council.

The total amount of grants allocated to the Limerick Corporation for road works in the year 1952-53 was £22,790. The corresponding figure for the Limerick County Council was £132,212. No decision has yet been taken on the amount of grant for the corporation for the current year. The grants so far notified to the county council for the current year total £152,612. The county council's proposals under grant are not segregated to show the schemes located in East Limerick.
