Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Galway Land Acquisition.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring the lands of the Burke estate, Ballyduggan, Loughrea, County Galway; and, if so, when they will be available for distribution.

There are no proceedings at present for the acquisition of this estate; it was previously considered and an objection by the owner was allowed.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring lands from the representatives of Laurence Conway, Teenageera, Kilnadeema, Loughrea, County Galway; and, if so, with what result.

The Land Commission have no proceedings for the acquisition of these lands but inquiries are being made in the matter.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state what progress has been made by the Land Commission in the acquisition of the O'Farrell estate, Dalystown, County Galway.

The Land Commission have acquired both the O'Farrell estate and the estate of the Dalystown Company (formerly part of the O'Farrell estate) totalling 773 acres.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state what progress has been made by the Land Commission in the acquisition of the Daly estate, Dunsandle, County Galway, and how much land is to be allocated for (a) mansion, (b) forestry and (c) division among local congests; further, if he will state when distribution is likely to commence.

The Land Commission have instituted proceedings for the acquisition of an area of 361 acres on this estate, from which the mansion and its surrounding lands have been excluded.

An objection to acquisition has been lodged and is awaiting hearing; no further action can be taken until the outcome of the hearing is available.
