Vol. 147 No. 5

Ceisteann—Questions. Oral Answers. - The “National Rooster.”

asked the Minister for Justice if, in regard to the permit issued to the promoters of the National Rooster, he will state the charities which it was proposed should benefit from the sales thereof.

No application was made for a permit for this street collection but the Garda Síochána have since been informed that the moneys collected have been placed in the hands of a reputable firm of auditors and that they will be allocated among deserving charities. The Gardaí have also been informed that a final decision has not yet been taken as to the actual allocation but that some charitable organisations have already applied for assistance from the proceeds.
