Vol. 147 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Liverpool-Cork Air Service.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware that a British airways company is anxious to operate scheduled air services between Liverpool and Cork, and, if so, if he will give favourable consideration to any proposals in the matter which he may receive from the company.

I am aware that a British company is interested in the operation of a seasonal scheduled air service from Liverpool to Cork if adequate facilities were available there.

As I stated in Dáil Éireann on 17th November, the present facilities in Cork are not suitable for the operation of scheduled services.
