Vol. 148 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Replacement of Glengad Boats.

Liam Mac Cuinneagáin

andMr. Blaney asked the Minister for Agriculture whether he has received applications from fishermen at Glengad for replacement of boats, and, if so, if he will state the terms under which replacements will be made.

I have received representations on behalf of fishermen at Glengad in connection with the replacement of fishing boats lost by them in the recent storms. I am not yet in a position to make any announcement in the matter.

Would this be a matter appropriate to the Irish Red Cross for the relief of distress? My information is that that is hardly likely. Will there be relief for people who lost their boats in that storm and, if so, from what source? There is no relief?
