Vol. 148 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bacon Prices.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether, when making the Order controlling the retail price of bacon, he gave consideration to the fact that in many parts of Ireland bacon is available only at a flat rate, and whether he proposes to make an Order dealing with this aspect of the matter.

Full consideration was given by me to all aspects of the bacon trade when making the Orders fixing maximum retail prices. The Order at present in force contains provisions which will enable me to make adjustments in relation to any description of bacon which in the light of experience may be found to be necessary or desirable.
