Vol. 150 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - North Kerry Afforestation.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will ensure that the lands offered to the Forestry Division in North Kerry for afforestation purposes will be inspected and, if found suitable, acquired during the present year.

I can assure the Deputy that there will be no avoidable delay in carrying out inspection of lands offered for forestry purposes in North Kerry or elsewhere. Neither will there be any undue delay in the acquisition of suitable areas but, as the Deputy is aware, negotiations for suitable land are sometimes held up and occasionally break down completely on the question of price and production of satisfactory legal title can also be a source of considerable delay.
