Vol. 150 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Farm Buildings Scheme.

asked the Minister for Agriculture why a special concession has been granted to erectors of hay barns under the farm buildings scheme in respect of the use of imported galvanised iron, and why a similar concession has not been given to stockists of this material.

Erectors of haybarns were allowed to use a limited portion of their stocks of imported galvanised iron under the farm buildings scheme in order to ensure as little interruption as possible in the erection of such buildings under the scheme. It was not practicable to extend that concession to stockists, who, in any event, should not find it over difficult to dispose of their stocks in ways not open to erectors of haybarns under the scheme.
