Vol. 151 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Proposed Oil Refinery.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether the promoters have yet intimated to the Industrial Development Authority where the proposed oil refinery will be located; further, whether the approval of the Dáil will be sought before a final decision is reached.

The answer to both parts of the question is "no".

The selection of the site for the industry will be primarily a matter for the promoters.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he has seen a report that a decision has been reached approving the location of the proposed new oil refinery at White-gate, County Cork, and, if so, whether he will make a statement on the matter.

I have seen the report referred to, which was denied the following day by the oil companies. I am not at present in a position to make a statement on the matter.
