Vol. 151 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Castlemungret Cement Factory.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether a decision has yet been reached in regard to the proposal to erect a level crossing on the link line connecting Castlemungret cement factory, Limerick, with the railway station, and, if so, the nature of the decision.

C.I.E. have given public notice of their application for an Order under Section 14 of the Transport Act, 1950, to enable them to construct a link line to the cement factory at Castle-mungret. A number of objections from persons and bodies whose interests are affected by the proposal are being examined and C.I.E. have been considering the matter further in the light of these objections. It is possible that I may find it necessary to arrange for a public inquiry before reaching a final decision.
