Vol. 152 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Limerick Cement Factory: Link Line.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he has yet decided whether it will be necessary to hold a public inquiry in regard to the construction of a link line to the cement factory at Castlemungret, Limerick, and, if so, the nature of his decision; further, if a public inquiry is to be held, when it is proposed to hold it, and if he will state its terms of reference.

C.I.E. published on 8th July their revised proposals for the link railway to the cement factory at Castlemungret. Persons or bodies wishing to make objections or representations in connection with the board's revised proposals may do so to my Department before 30th July. It is my intention that a public inquiry should be held as soon as possible after the closing date for the receipt of objections or representations. The terms of reference cannot yet be finally settled but they will provide for the hearing of persons or bodies who consider that their interests may be adversely affected by the C.I.E. proposals.
