Vol. 153 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Insurance Regulations.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if the consultations between his Department and the Department of Agriculture in regard to the amendment of Article 7 of the Social Welfare (Modifications of Insurance) Regulations, 1953, to permit the payment of unemployment benefit to share fishermen have yet been completed, and, if so, with what result.

Consultations between my Department and the Department of Agriculture in regard to the matter referred to in the Deputy's question are still proceeding. Very important issues are involved and extensive inquiries are essential before a decision can be given.
