Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Road Fund and Motor Taxation Income.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the total income to the Road Fund for the year 1954-55, and the income from motor taxation in respect of the month of January in each of the years 1954 to 1956.

The total income of the Road Fund for the financial year 1954-55 was £6,158,770 6s. 6d., which includes a transfer of £1,387,411 from the National Development Fund. The amounts collected in respect of motor taxation for the months of January in the years 1954, 1955 and 1956 were approximately £1,967,500, £2,506,700 and £2,425,900 respectively.
