Vol. 156 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Shannon Motor-ferry Service.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will ask C.I.E. to prepare an estimate of the cost of operating a motor-ferry service across the River Shannon from Carrigaholt to Kerry.

I have brought the Deputy's question to the notice of C.I.E. with a request that they should communicate direct with him in the matter.

I may say however that the provision of a ferry service to link these areas including necessary landing facilities appears to be more appropriate for consideration by the two local authorities and other local interests.
