Vol. 158 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rearrangement of Mayo Holdings.

asked the Minister for Lands whether full consideration has been given to the claims of tenants in the congested Purrauns area, Monica Lynch and Sligo estates, to portion of the lands of Mr. G. Nally, which have been acquired by the Land Commission; whether he is aware that a suitable scheme of rearrangement in respect of the Purrauns area holdings could be devised if the tenants willing to accept an exchange to Nally's estate were accommodated; and if he will make a statement on the plans of the Land Commission regarding this congested area.

Full consideration will be given to the applications of landholders in the Purrauns area for exchanges to the Nally estate and, in the event of any such exchanges being effected, the surrendered lands would most likely be used towards the enlargement or rearrangement of the remaining holdings.
