Vol. 159 No. 11

Questions— Oral Answers. - Waterford Hospital Attendants' Wages.

asked the Minister for Health whether he has received further proposals from the Waterford Board of Public Assistance in connection with an increase in wages for the hospital attendants employed by the board, and, if so, when he hopes to be in a position to give a decision.

The proposals referred to by the Deputy were received in my Department in June last. I intimated to the local authority on the 17th instant that as the temporary bonus increases recently sanctioned were of general application to local authority officers, I would not be prepared to authorise an additional increase in the case of a particular grade of officers in Waterford.
