Vol. 166 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - West Limerick Dispensaries.

asked the Minister for Health when he will be in a position to sanction the erection of the remaining dispensaries in West Limerick in accordance with proposals submitted to his Department; and if he will state the location of each proposed new building.

The county council submitted proposals for the replacement of the dispensaries at Newcastle West, Tournafulla, Mountcollins and Crecora. The proposal to provide a new dispensary at Newcastle West has been approved. The council has also been informed that the dispensaries at Tournafulla and Mountcollins are regarded as adequate for the areas they serve and that it is considered that the provision of new premises at those centres should not be pursued at this stage. In regard to Crecora it is accepted that the provision of a new dispensary is desirable but not so urgently required that it should be undertaken at present in view of the need for economy.
