Vol. 166 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Pig Prices.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware that grave discontent exists in the pig trade with regard to the price of pigs in relation to the price of bacon with the result that farmers are discontinuing pig production and, if so, what immediate steps he proposes to take to save the industry.

I cannot accept the implication in the first part of the question and in any event I have no function in relation to the price of bacon.
