Vol. 167 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Married Women Teachers.

asked the Minister for Education whether he is yet in a position to state whether he proposes to permit married women teachers who wish to do so to teach.

The examination of the question of future requirements as regards trained teachers has not yet been completed by my Department. Until the examination has been completed and the necessary decisions taken, I will not be able to make any statement as to how future requirements will be met.

Would the Minister give me any indication as to when I should put down another question?

I hope to be able to deal with the matter of the shortage of trained teachers in the course of the debate on the Estimate for my Department.
