Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Agricultural Wage Rates.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state the weekly rate of wages required as at mid-May, 1958, to equal the value of the wages paid to agricultural workers on each of the State farms effective from 28th May, 1956.

As the reply is in the form of a tabular statement I propose with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle to circulate it in the Official Report.

The rate of wages at Grange was increased to £5 12s. 6d. and the rate of wages at Abbotstown, Backweston and the Veterinary Research Laboratory to £6 1s. with effect from 10th August, 1957.

The information supplied refers to the farms administered by the Department of Agriculture.
