Vol. 176 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Import of Boats for Rowing Races.

18.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if in view of the ever increasing popularity of rowing races, he will issue duty free licences to boat clubs affiliated to the Irish Amateur Rowing Union to enable them to import clinker and fine built boats which are not made in this country.

Duty-free facilities are freely recommended in the case of clinker and fine built boats for rowing purposes as these boats are not made in this country.

I have no power however to recommend remission of any Special Import Levy which may also be chargeable on such boats.
