Vol. 176 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Development of Wexford Lead Deposits.

19.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if there are any proposals in his Department for the development of lead deposits in the Caim-Ballyhyland area of County Wexford; and if he will give a loan or grant for such development.

There are no proposals before my Department for the development of the mineral deposits referred to.

As indicated in the Programme for Economic Expansion, a scheme is being prepared under which Technical Assistance grants will be made towards the cost of mineral prospecting and development in suitable cases. Each application for financial assistance will have to be considered on its merits.

Question No. 20 postponed.
