In 1956, the Forestry Division of my Department inspected two commonage areas offered for afforestation in the Ballycroy district, Co. Mayo. The offers comprised land in the townlands of Bunmore East, Bunmore West, Shean More and Owenglass.
The offers were found to be unsuitable for forestry development and were rejected.
