asked the Minister for Lands what proposals there are for the acquisition of land for afforestation in the Moville-Gleneely area, County Donegal.

In the Moville-Gleneely area, Co. Donegal, the Forestry Division of my Department is dealing with 7 offers of land involving 324 acres. Agreement to purchase one area of 34 acres in the townland of Tullyally has been reached with the owner and title is in course of clearance. Negotiations to purchase are in progress in respect of another area of 37 acres and preliminary investigations are being conducted in respect of the remaining areas.

asked the Minister for Lands what is the present position in regard to the acquisition of further lands for afforestation in the Buncrana area, County Donegal.

The Forestry Division of my Department is dealing with 14 offers of land for afforestation totalling 1,066 acres in the Buncrana district. Agreement to purchase has been reached with three of the owners in respect of 364 acres and title is in course of clearance. Negotiations to purchase are in progress in three other cases totalling 86 acres and preliminary investigations are being conducted in respect of the remaining cases.
