The Department's records do not enable me to supply the figures sought for the period before 1949. The number of German citizens registered here on 31st December, 1949 was 510, and the figures for each 31st December since then are 525, 579, 572, 569, 610, 660, 649, 614, 698 and 729. The current figure—as on 31st of last month—is 718.
