I move:—
That leave be given by the Dáil to introduce the following Supplementary Estimate for the service of the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1961, namely:—
Vote No.:—
47 (Industry and Commerce).
The Supplementary Estimate will be circulated almost at once.
When is it to be taken?
On Thursday next, 7th instant.
The day after tomorrow?
It is a further Supplementary Estimate to provide funds for the expansion of the steel industry at Haulbowline. The Dáil has already approved one Supplementary Estimate for it, pending the enactment of a Bill which is now almost ready for consideration by the Government. The first Supplementary Estimate was not sufficient for the purpose of the company. They now require further moneys. The matter has, I think, already been approved in principle. Again, if there is any embarrassment or difficulty about taking it on Thursday we shall consider taking it later.
