Vol. 183 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Reconstruction and Adaptation of Limerick Infirmary Buildings.

15.

asked the Minister for Education what progress has been made in regard to the scheme submitted by the Limerick City Vocational Education Committee for the reconstruction and adaptation of the former county infirmary buildings at Limerick for technical education purposes.

The scheme for the reconstruction and extension of the premises of the former Limerick County Infirmary and Nurses Home as proposed by the Committee has been accepted in principle subject to a minor modification as regards the amount of accommodation to be provided. I hope to be able to convey to the Committee at an early date approval of the general arrangements under which the proposed scheme would be implemented. Meanwhile, a report is awaited from the Commissioners of Public Works as to the suitability of the sketch-plans submitted by the Committee.
