No difficulty has been experienced in securing engineer officers for an tArm. Efforts made earlier this year to recruit engineer officers and deck officers for An tSeirbhís Chabhlaigh were not, however, successful. The question of the steps to be taken to fill the vacancies is at present under consideration in my Department but I am not yet in a position to make a statement on the matter.
