Vol. 188 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Agreement on Social Security between Britain and Republic.

9.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he has seen the fourteen-page Leaflet S.A. 21 published by the British Ministry of Pensions and National Insurance in December, 1960, which explains in detail the Agreement on Social Security between Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland; and if in the absence of a similar Irish publication he will arrange to make copies of the leaflet in question available to the public at the Government Publications Sale Office, Dublin.

I have seen the leaflet issued by the British Ministry of Pensions and National Insurance. It would not be appropriate to do as the Deputy suggests.

A stencilled leaflet is available in the Department dealing with title to disability, maternity and marriage benefits under the Agreement. I shall consider the desirability of having a more comprehensive leaflet prepared when our Agreement with the Six Counties has been reviewed; it is at present under consideration.
