Vol. 188 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Electoral (Amendment) Bill, 1961.

35.

asked the Minister for Local Government the estimated number of electors in 1961-62 on the Register of Electors under the Electoral (Amendment) Bill, 1961.

The number of Dáil electors in the present register is 1,669,408. The number in the 1961/62 register should not diverge materially from this figure.

In spite of the additional number of electors of 21 years of age who are on it?

The significance of that in relation to the over-all figure should be quite obvious to the Deputy.

Therefore, there should be some divergence.
