Vol. 189 No. 3

Written Answers. - Housing Authority Advances.

54.

asked the Minister for Local Government if housing authorities are paid any grants-in-aid by the Exchequer towards advances made by them under the Small Dwellings (Acquisition) Acts (whether by way of loan or interest subsidies); and if advances may be made by housing authorities for the purposes of the Small Dwellings (Acquisition) Acts into which Exchequer grants of any sort do not enter.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative. The purposes for which advances may be made by housing authorities under the Small Dwellings (Acquisition) Acts are not defined by reference to purposes for which Exchequer grants are paid.
