Vol. 189 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Housing in Cahir (Tipperary).

12.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the great shortage of houses in Cahir town, County Tipperary; and that there are many old and dilapidated houses which should be inspected with a view to their demolition and with a view to having provision made for new houses for the occupants; and what steps the local authority have taken to provide houses for the residents of this town.

The position with regard to unfit houses in Cahir will be established when the housing survey to be undertaken by the council has been completed. On the 26th instant, the housing authority submitted for my approval plans for a scheme of 10 houses in the town, 3 of which, I understand, are intended for the rehousing of persons in unfit houses.
