Vol. 189 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Grants to Periodicals and Newspapers published in Irish.

21.

asked the Minister for Education the conditions under which grants are made to periodicals and newspapers published in Irish, the amount paid in respect of each publication last year, and the circulation of each.

In the case of periodicals published in Irish, each application for grant is considered separately by my Department with due regard to the need for assistance, the type of periodical, the reading public served by it and the amount of money which it is possible to provide for this purpose annually.

The further information sought by the Deputy is being supplied by way of a tabular statement which with the permission of An Ceann Comhairle I propose to have circulated with the Official Report.
