Vol. 191 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Worthless Cheques in Wool Sales.

21.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware that a number of farmers in the Sligo-Leitrim area received worthless cheques last year for wool sold, and that the same person who issued these cheques is still trafficking in the buying of wool; and, if so, what action he proposes to take in the matter.

I am informed that in some instances civil proceedings have been instituted against the person in question.

If the Deputy or any other person has information as to the commission of a criminal offence he might communicate it to the Gárda Síochána whose duty it is to investigate such matters.
