The Local Appointments Commissioners recommend persons for appointment—the actual appointments are made by the local authorities concerned.
The Commissioners issued 112 recommendations in the period from 1st January, 1961, to 21st July, 1961. So far, they have been notified in 60 cases that appointments have been made by the local authorities concerned. I propose, with your permission, Sir, to circulate in the Official Report, a list setting out particulars of these 60 cases.
