Vol. 191 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - British Maps: Obliteration of Map of Republic.

11.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if his attention has been drawn to press reports that maps issued by the British Travel and Holiday Association, which are stated to be on sale in this country, have the map of the Republic obliterated therefrom; and if in view of the fact that British transport concerns enjoy a practical monopoly of sea traffic between this country and the United Kingdom, he will protest at this action.

I have seen these reports. In view of the cordial relations that exist between Bord Fáilte and the British Travel and Holiday Association I am surprised at the omission referred to and I have asked Bord Fáilte to keep in touch with the British body to see if it can be avoided in future issues.
