Vol. 192 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Local Authority Officials: Retirement Age.

76.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will consider extending the upper age retirement limit for local authority officials who have not completed their full term of service to qualify for full pension, but who have had pre-truce I.R.A. service.

There is no statutory authority for the amendment in the manner suggested by the Deputy of the age limit order which applies to offices in respect of which I am the appropriate Minister.
