I do not accept that there is a shortage of these officers.
Court Messengers, who are full-time employees, are paid at the rate of £9 11s. 6d. a week. Summons-servers, who are part-timers, are paid retainers at the rate of £32 a year, and receive fees for the service of court documents at rates prescribed by Court Rules.
