The sittings of the circuit court at Belmullet were discontinued in 1957 because the courthouse was in a bad state of disrepair.
It is the duty of the county council to provide proper courthouse accommodation and my Department have made repeated representations to the Mayo County Council in the matter. I understand that the county council now contemplate the erection of a new courthouse.
