7.

asked the Taoiseach the volume and value of imports of kippered herrings in the year 1961.

8.

asked the Taoiseach the volume and value of imports of smoked fish other than herrings in the year 1961.

I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to take Question No. 7 and No. 8 together and to circulate in the Official Report a statement showing the quantity and value of dried, salted or smoked fish, not further prepared, imported in the year 1961. Separate particulars in respect of kippered herrings imported are not recorded since a separate heading for the commodity is not provided in the official Import List according to which imports are brought to account.

Following is the statement:—

IMPORTS of fish not in airtight containers; dried, salted or smoked, but not further prepared, in the year 1961.
