Vol. 195 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Laois and Offaly Road Repair Grants.

7.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that the road known as the Estate Road, Luggacurran, County Laois, is in a very bad state of repair; if it can be considered for a grant under the Rural Improvements Scheme; and if he will send an application form and details of the scheme to Mr. Michael Johnson, Luggacurran, Portlaoise, County Laois, as soon as possible, so that a proposal may be submitted for early consideration.

The question appears to refer to a road for which a grant was offered on 10th July, 1958, but not accepted. If the applicants are now prepared to pay the appropriate contribution and will so notify the Special Employment Schemes Office the case will be reopened.

8.

asked the Minister for Finance if he has recently received an application for a grant under the Rural Improvements Scheme from Mr. Martin Burke, The Glens, Birr, County Offaly, concerning the repair of a road in this area; and if he will have this work examined with the least possible delay with a view to the provision of a suitable grant.

The application was received on 8th May and it is getting due consideration.
