Vol. 195 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Timber-built Houses.

15.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether there is any restriction on the allocation of local authority housing loans or grants for the provision of timber-built houses.

The Housing Acts do not preclude the making of advances or grants by a housing authority in respect of the provision of timber-built houses. The decision whether or not to make an advance or a grant in any particular instance rests with the housing authority concerned subject, in the case of grants, to the payment of a grant by the State.
