Vol. 195 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Import Licences.

21.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware that serious inconvenience has recently been caused in business circles by reason of delays in the granting of import licences; and if he will have the issue thereof expedited.

It is not clear from the Deputy's question to what type of import licence he refers.

I am not aware that there have been any avoidable delays in the granting of import licences in general. I am satisfied that applications are dealt with as expeditiously as possible.

If the Deputy will furnish particulars of any cases where there appeared to be undue delay in dealing with applications, I will have the matter looked into.
