Vol. 196 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - EEC Regulations.

1.

asked the Taoiseach what regulations adopted by the Council of Ministers of the EEC will automatically become law in this country if Ireland adheres to the Rome Treaty; and if he will make copies of these regulations available to Members in the Oireachtas Library.

I would suggest that the Deputy await the issue next week of the supplement to the White Paper, which will contain the information sought.

Am I right in assuming these regulations and their contents are part of the general terms on which we would be offered admission to the EEC and which the Dáil would have an opportunity of accepting or rejecting —in other words, that we would know beforehand what we were committing ourselves to?

By and large, that is correct.
